Liu Huanhua
Rising Star in Weightlifting with Gold in His Grasp

Liu Huanhua's journey into the world of weightlifting began in Chenzhou at the young age of 13 when he was spotted and recruited by the coach of the Tianjin weightlifting team. His initial recorded performance was at the 2018 China Youth Championships, where he competed in the men's 77 kg class. Liu's sheer determination and prowess allowed him to secure the gold medal in both the snatch and clean and jerk events, setting the stage for his future success. In 2021, Liu advanced to the men's 81 kg class at the 14th National Games of China held in Shaanxi. Despite stiff competition, Liu's remarkable performance resulted in a well-deserved third-place finish, solidifying his presence as an emerging talent in the weightlifting world.

2022-2023: The Rise Continues

The subsequent years marked Liu's ascent through weight classes and international competitions. In 2022, he competed in the men's 89 kg category at the World Weightlifting Championships in Bogotá. Liu exhibited his skill by securing a bronze medal overall, despite finishing sixth in the snatch event and third in the clean and jerk.

In 2023, Liu continued to climb the ranks as he entered the men's 96 kg category at the Asian Weightlifting Championships in Jinju. His remarkable performance earned him a gold medal, taking first place in the snatch and second place in the clean and jerk. Notably, his 89.48 kg bodyweight provided him with a strategic advantage over most of his competitors.

However, Liu's most significant victory came in 2023 at the World Weightlifting Championships in Riyadh, where he moved into the men's 102 kg category. Liu secured his first world championship victory by ranking fourth in the snatch and first in the clean and jerk, ultimately resulting in an overall gold medal.

A remarkable twist occurred when Liu advanced to the men's 109 kg category for the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou. Despite moving up a weight class, Liu's incredible lifts of 233 kg in the clean and jerk and 418 kg in the total broke world standards and set new records. However, his records weren't attributed to the 102 kg class due to the event's adherence to previous Summer Olympic categories.
